Moose Jaw Soccer Association has one full-time staff member, Executive & Technical Director - Jordan Jeffery.
Where are you originally from?
I'm from North Devon in England.
When did you first start playing Soccer (or Football as you call it in Europe)?
I played around at school and at home with my Dad. I also then started playing just in the streets for fun as a young kid, this was before my parents registered me for my first club in England called SAS.
Did you just play local club soccer?
I played locally for SAS, I also participated in a Summer Academy hosted by Plymouth Argyle who were a Championship side at the time. That was where I really developed as a player and received coaching that still inspires me to this day.
What position did you play?
Mostly as a striker, my finishing was always one of the strongest points of my game. I also played as an attacking midfielder and a winger in Canada, we found creating chances a challenge in the year I played in the Alberta League. So I sometimes dropped inbetween the lines to link up play.
Did you start coaching in England?
Not attached to a club, but I used to help coach the younger street team in the area I lived at the time.
What was your first club coaching experience?
I lived in Leduc, Alberta, when I was 15 and I was playing U16 twice a week and due to a lack of coaches in the club at that time, I was asked if I was interested and I felt it was a natural progression for me as I had be inspired from my time playing and being coached in the Plymouth Argyle Academy.
You've been involved with MJSA as a volunteer in the past before becoming a full time staff member, how did that come about?
I moved to Moose Jaw in July 2013, after a few weeks of settling in I decided to look into what was on offer for Soccer in Moose Jaw. I found out about the world class indoor facility, Yara Centre. I stopped by and registered for Adult Co-Ed. A couple weeks later, I received a phone call to ask if I'd be interested in coaching the youth groups to work off my volunteer bond. I initially wasn't going to be able to commit as I was working nights as a DJ at the time but I decided to give it a shot, now here we are.
